Sal Baldanza, co-owner with his brothers of
Mr. Sausage,
Huntington, New York's specialty Italian foods store and
catering establishment, is a familiar face in the
community and a skilled chef. As he spends most of his
days in
the shop, a natural rapport develops among the Baldanza
brothers and certain customers. Such was the case with
Kerriann Flanagan Brosky, a
local historian, author, photographer and ghost
investigator -- and a
frequent customer. A mutual love of food and expertise
in the kitchen
forged a strong bond between Sal and Kerriann, and Sal's
interest in what dish she was making each night gave him
an idea.
Anyone who attempts to write a cookbook must possess two
essential
things: a love of food and a great deal of talent in the
kitchen. Both
Calabria-born Sal and Long Island native Kerriann are
passionate about
Italian food and so skilled at producing savory dishes
that when they come together the result is incredible.
